Great job Austin, others may take notice. This is a great example of concise tutorial within a great shop environment without a lot of gibber jabber. Very thorough and above and beyond normal rebuild. I was just looking for a good representation of disassembly/assembly order for this subject of rear axle teardown and reassembly. As I am in process now on stepsons' 87 toyota pickup rear axle bearing and seals replacement. I am 40 year Aircraft tech, car and motorcycle enthusiast, mechanic.

Doing this at the moment and having difficulty something is not quite right, pump works ive tested it on the relay i have no.85 ground, 87 lift pump 86 injection pump fuel shut off and 30 power from battery is this correctly done? Thanks

Yep did one of these recently on a custom build 69 Jeepster. I used the same fuse box but wired all injectors together and coils together. You either have all injectors working or not just like the coils working on one circuit easier that way. I used the two fan relays on the current to run radiator cooling and a Deralie trans fan. My project we used AAW body harness. I used that one relay that was designated for cooling and rewired it for the start up relay circuit. It was tied into the factory P/N, backup light switch on the trans. I moved all the grounds on the LS harness to the back of the passenger head so to only have one spot to check grounds. Haven't been on the channel for over a year, glad to see some LS content my wheelhouse.

Wow man , that was a tough job bro , figuring out the pre loads an i can imagine dufferent after market bearing would make a difference in the back lash. Brother ypu pushed right tough. I noticed in the video that you had a picture of one of your cardboard templates on a computer screen. Are you scanning these and somehow converting them to a drawing software as a dwg or dxf file?

It’s remarkable how much work you’re able to do for one person. Very well done. Great video too. One tip? Be certain that you’re looking out for your back. This type of work can do a number on your back, but if you’re careful, you can do it for much longer without a problem.

At 23:20 your gauge is going to vary quite a bit if it gets tilted as you lower it down. Someone probably already mentioned this

You're doing a great job. It reminds me when I replaced my complete 24v wiring harness in my 1988 BJ74 Landcruiser with a 12v harness from a 2014 Toyota Hilux. I replace my old engine that had cracked piston head with a newer 2014 1KD engine that only had 19k since new because owner rolled his Ute when brand new. Kept in his shed for years for a project that never happened so he sold it off. I had to strip out and remove all the extra unwanted wires from the new harness like ABS, air con, Airbags system, and whole lot of stuff that old Landcruiser's body didn't have. I did kept a few fancy wires for future uses if I needed. Yeah it was a big job researching where all the wires goes and making sure the wires you take out is not going to affect the other components etc. Great job there. Keep up the amazing work.

have you got some diy or something how to set correctly diff ? i chancheged all bearings in my navara d40 and diff is is loud after 80km/h ...

Looks great Austin. For the wires connecting from the 2 fuse boxes, you can get a firewall bulkhead connector so you can connect them all in one connector at the firewall. they sell ones that range from 20-50 pins. It would look cleaner for sure

My hats off to you man, that all came out great! Good idea to drop a ground wire to that aluminum radiator as well.
